1. Introduction and Background 


I have a bachelor's degree in hotel management and an MBA in human resources. I began working in sales after receiving an opportunity from one of the direct selling brands. After many changes, upscaling, and upgrading, and 10+ years in this industry, I landed with AVON and am now the business manager responsible for the Maharashtra and Goa markets. I am in charge of the sales of all AVON products.


2. Insights into the company and your direct selling strategy?

AVON is a direct-selling brand, which means that the customer gets the product directly from the brand, saving a lot of money that would otherwise be spent on advertising, retailers, and dealers, lowering the MRP of the product and allowing a much more affordable, high-quality product to be delivered to the customer without any hidden fees.


3. What are some of your hot-selling products?


Makeup is currently the best-selling product, followed by skincare and, finally, body care & accessories.


4. What is the one challenge of direct selling which is not the same in e-commerce?


Because we are not appearing in any newspapers, TV channels, or other social advertisements, some people are unaware of the brand, and each customer must be informed individually about the brand first. People believe we do not exist because we do not appear in advertisements.


5. 3-pointers for anyone starting out in the beauty industry as a BFA or in direct sales?


The first is relationship building, which is at the heart of everything. The second most important factor is believing in your product, and the final and most important factor is convincing power to keep the customer focused on what you want to sell.


6. What makes you good at this role?

 

In my opinion, I love my role in selling. Sailing all through monthly targets makes me a Go Getter. I enjoy communicating with people & learning their skin needs, finally working on how I can meet their skincare expectations. My determination drives me to work harder.
